Benjamin Hollingsworth was born on September 7, 1984 in Brockville, Ontario. He moved to Peterborough, Ontario at the age of 12. Throughout St. Peter's Secondary School Ben appeared in more than 20 different professional and regional theatre productions in the span of 4 years.

When Ben was 17 he was offered a leading role as a mentally delayed youth living on the streets of Toronto. Few years ago Ben starred in two short movies. First one, called Cable Girl, was released in 2006 and you can watch a clip from it in our Media Archive. For the entire short visit Veoh.com (you will need Veoh Media Player to watch it).

Second movie, Spit, was released in 2007 but so far I could only find a trailer for it which has been also uploaded to Media Archive. Below you can find screencaps from both films.

According to IMDb, Ben will guest star on yet another show! This time we will see him on A Gifted Man. Ben will play a character named PJ in episode titled In Case of Loss of Control which will air on November 4 on CBS. Official synopsis:

Michael must decide if it is worth risking his practice to save a patient’s life. Meanwhile, he courts Evan “E-Mo” Morris, a neuropsychiatrist to join his practice after E-Mo determines a patient’s diagnosis by reading her body language.

Edited 10/28: I just now noticed that IMDb had inaccurate info about Ben’s guest appearance and air date. The episode aired on October 21 and the actor who played PJ was named Ben Hollandsworth.

Ben in new horror series “Divine”
Published by Peter on May 24th, 2011 · Comments (0) · Filed in: Divine, Multimedia, TV and Movies

As the angel Castiel on “Supernatural,” Misha Collins deals with themes of religion, damnation, and just plain gore on a daily basis. This summer, he sticks with what’s familiar in a new web series, “Divine,” produced by Vancouver-baed Maple Blood Productions.

Collins serves as co-creator and producer, and stars in the recurring role of Father Christopher. He’s working alongside Ivan Hayden, “Supernatural’s” visual effects supervisor.

In the leading role of Father Andrew is Ben Hollingsworth, a Canadian actor who played Chris Andrews on the short-lived CW Series “The Beautiful Life: TBL.”

Andrew is a young priest whose faith is tested when an immortal creature named Divine is resurrected before his eyes. Divine is played by Dan Payne, who has previously had bit parts on “Smallville” and in the “Stargate” franchise.

“Given sanctuary by the church, Divine leads a never-ending crusade to show lost souls they have the power to choose their destiny between good and evil. With guidance from the priest’s mentor and Divine’s street-smart sidekick, the Father must now confront his own demons and the dark forces that challenge Divine,” reads the description on the official site, teasing “surprises that await” the viewer.

“Divine” is set to debut in mid-summer. Check out the teaser trailer below.
